UPDATE 6/6/2025: Following yesterday’s Switch 2 staple debacle, GameStop has released a statement, saying that “staplers have been confiscated”.
As we reported yesterday, a number of GameStop customers found their new Switch 2 consoles damaged by staples from receipts puncturing through the box and into the hardware.
These incidents were “isolated to one store”, GameStop has now said, and replacement consoles have been offered to those affected.
