ORIGINAL STORY 5.21pm: Sony’s PlayStation 5 games reveal livestream, which was postponed last week, will now take place this Thursday, according to a new advert that’s surfaced on Twitch.
The company had initially scheduled its games reveal for last Thursday, but made the decision to push the event back to a then-undisclosed later date in response to the Black Lives Matter protests taking place around the globe following the police killing of George Floyd.
“While we understand gamers worldwide are excited to see PS5 games,” it wrote at the time, “we do not feel that right now is a time for celebration and for now, we want to stand back and allow more important voices to be heard”.
