Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to reveal that they want Daniel Sturridge to be re-signed, following his exit from Turkish outfit Trabzonspor.
The 26-cap England international’s contract with the Merseysiders expired back in the summer, and he was not offered fresh terms. Sturridge eventually joined the Super Lig side on a free transfer, where he has since impressed.
The former Bolton striker has scored seven goals while also recording four assists in 16 appearances for Trabzonspor this season, but he has decided to part ways with the club via mutual consent just eights months into his three-year contract.
Sturridge only scored four goals in his last season as a Liverpool player, but ended the campaign as a Champions League winner after Jurgen Klopp’s side overcame Tottenham in the final – the 30-year-old’s goal against Paris Saint-Germain in the 3-2 group stage win was ultimately crucial, as the Reds only progressed into the last 16 thanks to their victory against Napoli in the final group fixture.

To kick off the reaction, both of these supporters wanted Sturridge to be handed a six-month deal.
Of course, while that would seem foolish with the likes of Divock Origi struggling for starts – the Belgian has started just five Premier League games this term – it would be a romantic move as the once-prolific Englishman could get a Premier League winners medal.
Elsewhere, these two fans simply ordered Liverpool to bring the former Chelsea man back to Anfield.
As popular as he was on the red half of Merseyside – he netted 68 goals in 160 appearances for the club – it wouldn’t be a sensible move given his advancing years and well-documented injury problems.
Lastly, a fan even demanded that Liverpool release Origi and re-sign Sturridge!
